Bristol always goes through an extensive make over when it comes to summer. The graffiti becomes more marketing targeted and the streets seem to come and alive and become filled with large speakers and dancing people.

Whilst it is all fun and games around Bristol, you may want to focus your attention to some events that are being put on by some really talented people. If you want to have the best summer of your life, then you’ll love spending a few days here.

  1. Bristol Harbour Festival

The Harbour Festival comes together to put on a wonderful event that hosts some of Bristol finest talent as well as music that is well known else-where, all in venues and places around the harbour. So what is going on this year?

There will be lots of things happening on the water such as paddleboards, boats and emphasis on Bristol’s history including the SS Great Britain which will be another lovely attraction.

There will also be a load of food stools, market stalls and other entertainment that will suit the whole family.

  1. The Downs Festival

This festival not to be missed, it never fails to disappoint and features a wide range of live music from popular artists.

On the list this year are the likes of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Goldie, Basement Jaxx and much more. Don’t miss out on this one. For accommodation near the festival there are some great serviced apartments nearby that can cater for all your needs.

  1. Bristol International Balloon Fiesta

From the 9th – 12th August balloons are released (as many as 100 at a time) from Ashton Court Estate. The balloons can be viewed from all across Bristol.

Many people choose to view from the Clifton Suspension Bridge or they go directly to the site and watch the spectacle from there. It is Europe’s largest meeting of balloons and the balloons come from all across the globe.
